4 Days in Las Vegas

“Shall we spend 4 days in Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps, with no children?”

“Yes please”, they said.

“Then let me make it a trip to we will never forget.”

Arrival Day

There is only one way to leave the airport in Las Vegas and that is in style. Allow yourselves the chance to feel like movie stars from the moment you land, by booking a stretch limo transfer from Presidential Limousines.

After 70 years of service they have an established reputation and achieve a completely stress free transfer to your hotel. These guys offer first class service, are helpful and courteous and of course provide some fizz for your journey.

Las Vegas has so many amazing places to stay, it can make choosing the right hotel tricky. Fear not though, the hotels in Las Vegas all tend to be of a high standard, its best to look at your budget and the hotel location. For this trip we chose the Aria. The Aria is the place to be seen at, with its 5 Diamond rating this hotel is the epitome of luxury, with spectacular dining options and a cracking location on the Strip.

The perfect home for your long weekend.

Day 1 – Take a trip down the Strip

Spend your first day getting to know the epicentre of Las Vegas, The Strip. Some may call this a bar crawl but try to think of it more as a journey. A journey where you can experience and view some of the best spots Las Vegas has to offer. This all happens whilst enjoying a drink or two, obviously, you are in Vegas!!

Enjoy a long leisurely breakfast in your hotel and then follow this list of recommendations, in this order, it’ll take a whole day but is well worth it.

Minus5 Ice Experience at Mandalay Bay – Start your day at, quite literally, the coolest bar in Vegas.

Whisky Down at MGM Grand – soooo many whiskies and a wonderful lounge area.

Cabo Wabo at Planet Hollywood – stop for a spot of lunch at this cantina serving fabulous Mexican food.

Hexx at Paris – a superb location to enjoy a drink and wonder at the Bellagio

High Roller – take a ride on this wonderful wheel and experience fantastic views of this iconic city.

Carnaval Court at Harrahs – this open air street party showcasing live bands and DJ’s is a must see unique destination.

Parasol Down at The Wynn – a beautiful location where you can relax and be mesmerised by a spectacular 40ft waterfall.

Rhumbar at The Mirage – recognised as one of the best places to have a cocktail in Las Vegas.

The Chandelier at The Cosmopolitan – finish your journey at this beautifully stylish bar, one of my absolute favourites.

Day 2 – Reload and Refuel

Kick your second day off with some adrenaline filled fun and complete it with some poolside relaxation.

As one of the top rated fun things to do in Vegas, Battlefield Vegas is another of my must do options.

One of the highlights of a trip here is being picked up from your hotel by their humvee – a really superb service.

There are many different packages available, from Black Ops to Seal Team to SWAT to GI Jane, basically there is something for everyone.

If, like me, you have never shot a gun in your life have no inclination to do so again, you may well feel nervous, but try not to let that put you off. All of the staff at Battlefield are professional, patient and most importantly safe. They will ensure you are put at ease.

There is also loads to see outside the shooting gallery and we will be back to try the Tank Crush experience.

What better way to get over a morning of adrenaline than to relax in your own poolside cabana?

The Aria pools are the ultimate in poolside opulence. Although there are plenty of daybeds, banquettes and tables, book a cabana if there is a group of you.

These stunning contemporary cabanas come with an amazing list of amenities and a super friendly and helpful cabana host.

Book in for an amazing way to soak up the Vegas sun, refuel and prepare yourself for a night, on the strip, enjoying a show.

There are endless fantastic shows you can go and see in Vegas but if you would like to experience an old school lounge show, then head to 1Oak at The Mirage, to the Matt Goss show.

If you were not a BROS fan then do not worry.

Matt Goss has a stunning and intoxicating voice, that will have you hooked within seconds. Backed by an amazing 9 piece band, Matt faultlessly performs a huge selection of songs from Stevie Wonder to the Eagles to Frank Sinatra, with some of his own material too.

You are made to feel part of the show as Matt engages and interacts with the audience thought the evening, giving it a real personal lounge show feel.

There is no getting away from the fact that Matt is rather pleasing to the eye, but with his ridiculously beautiful backing dancers, the “Dirty Virgins”, there really is something for everyone.

It is easy to see why Matt has been crowned the “New King Of Vegas”.

Day 3 – Down on the track and high above

Following a night on the town, a decent sleep and a full breakfast, what would be better than throwing yourself around a racetrack?

Get yourself down to Speed Vegas. Boasting the longest and fastest track in Las Vegas, created by a team of racing experts, Speed Vegas is a top pick for speed and adrenaline.

They have a huge selection of of super and muscle cars, something for everyone. All the staff, from the moment you arrive, are attentive, supportive but most importantly professional and knowledgeable. Vital when you could be hitting speeds of up to 220mph in cars boasting 650BHP.

After a thorough and informative briefing you are shown to your chosen cars. I chose the Mustang Shelby but there are also Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and Mercedes AMG available. Your time in the cars is pure adrenaline, fly by the seat of your pants, 100% terrifying FUN!

Just sitting in some of the other cars felt like a honour.

Grab some lunch, hit the shops or chill for a few hours by the pool and then head to Freemont Street in Downtown Vegas for a little more high energy action.

Situated in the vibrant, busy and must see area of Freemont Street sits, in my opinion, a must do in Vegas. Here you will find Slotzilla, an 11 storey zip wire in the shape of a slot machine.

The experience offers two ways to fly, the lower (Zipline)and upper (Zoomline). If you are up for it I highly recommend taking the Zoomline, where you can fly like a superhero.

Once you have climbed the 114ft to the top of the machine, you are strapped up and laid out, whilst you wait for the slot machine front doors to open.

The 1750ft journey takes you down Freemont Street at up to 40mph towards the iconic Golden Gate Casino. It’s fast but the memories will last a lifetime.

Put any fears behind you, this is an amazing trip, every second is pure fun. The bonus then is you get to spend the rest of the evening in an amazing part of Vegas.

Try and grab some time before you flight home to hit the shops. Las Vegas has a huge selection of shops to suit every taste. I personally like the Fashion Show Mall but equally enjoy marvelling at the shops within Caesars Palace and the Aria. Whether you have children or not, try and make a trip to M&M World, leaving Vegas without a bag of these would not be complete for me.

Of course these activities are in no way all that Las Vegas has to offer, but for the 4 days we were there we really do feel we made the most of every minute we had.

Nobody goes to Vegas for a quiet time, do they?
